We were tasked to create an identity with a boutique feel, solid and reliable, above all top drawer! The identity could be “space” related, but didn't have to be. One last thing, there were to be no satellites, astronomy, or the normal space-related stuff!
The goal was for sharp, cutting edge combination of business, technology and creativity.
Stage one: Discovery.
HOW WE GOT INSPIRED
it wasn't to difficult
From an initial workshop with the client it was clear that there were to be no common space clichés. So we took a less obvious approach and pulled together mood boards that looked at the light and shade of space, the patterns created by earth below, and the cinematic imagery of space itself.

Stage two: Design
THE INITIAL CONCEPTS
From all the information gathered, from both the brief and our research, we created an initial set of concepts for the client to choose from. After this initial stage we then developed two of the concepts below.
Stage three: Decision time.
We were delighted when Scotia Space selected the identity below, it was one of our favourites. The chosen route made clever use of the diagonal line slicing through the "O" of Scotia, and the "C" of Space. Without affecting legibility, it creates 2 planets, one in light, one in shade, a metaphor for the service Scotia Space provide, bringing insight and critique to space projects across the globe.
"We are really pleased with the work TwoFifths produced for Scotia Space, great design, and on budget, it more than matched the professional look and feel we were seeking for the Company.
